What is a Notary?

A Notary is a specialist lawyer whose qualifications are accepted throughout the world, in contrast to a solicitor whose status is recognised only in England and Wales. I am largely concerned with verifying information and documents for use overseas (or in Scotland!) by people who have business or property abroad. For historical reasons I am appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury, I am regulated by his Faculty Office and I have to maintain insurance cover for your protection.

I work from home but am more than glad to come and see you on your own premises and at evenings on weekends. I also have consulting facilities available in Hebden Bridge, Halifax and Huddersfield.
